Detailed Product Description

Casa Alarcón Tria 2007: Harvested by the hand in 8 kg boxes, between 15th to 28th September 2007, depending on varieties. Fruit selection.

Fruit de-stemming, very soft crushing. Temperature controlled fermentation, continuos pumping with intervals of full delestage. Long maceration. Drawing off, without pressing, racking to french oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels.

Ageing: Five months in 220 litres new Frenck oak barrels

 

Finca Casa Alarcon is located in Caudete, Albacete, Castilla la Mancha. Our 89-hectares vineyars grow at the foot of so-called Sierra del Cuchillo (which literally translates as Knife Mountain), on soils which are clay loam to sandy loam, stony in certain areas. Varieties include syrah, petit verdot, merlot, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, viognier and sauvignon blanc.

The climate is typical from the Mancha plateau, dry and harsh, but influenced by the coast (only 70 km away) and the altitude (650 metres above sea level). These physical and climatic features together with the vineyard and winemaking practices allow us to offer high quality, full-character Mediterranean wines.
